I think it was the right thing to do, so both of them would have a great life! If he killed Bonnie it would be so unfair she is so young and has suffered so much!
Besides it is not like he will never see Elena again, he will see her in 70 years or something, he is a vampire it doesnt make a difference!

I thought it was great. It would've been what Elena would've wanted and plus Bonnie has sacrificed for Elena season after season and ELena has not once really done so for Bonnie. But I"m glad to see that Damon saved Bonnie and plus Bonnie is not immortal or anything so she's not gonna live forever so Elena will wake up at one point. I"m glad that the writers did it that way. They didn't really kill her off, but put in a sleep, giving us hope maybe one day she will wake. I wouldn't be okay if she just died which I thought they were gonna do.

I knew he was going to save her because they have acually became friends, and Elena would never forgive him if he didnt save her.
