Realist1 There are changes in Damon, which can be seen, but he is still cold, sadistic, cruel, manipulator and brutal etc. Look what he has done to Andy. He toyed with her, manipulated her, used her and used compulsion on her when it suited him and even though at one point Andy knew what was going on that does not take away what Damon done to her in the slightest, because it still shows that he can be brutal and cruel. Damon still needs to develop for himself, for that love to be returned. You mentioned Damon getting a chance, but you haven't mentioned Elena's feelings. She should be the one to decide and considering she has not shown him she's interested in him in that way, as well as her being in love with Stefan, there is no way he is getting a look in, for now. Damon is still selfish and stubborn in his actions, as he is not taking Elena's feelings into consideration and I think maybe until he learns this,he will then understand that love isn't about being selfish, it's also about respect, consideration and care etc. Someone changing for another, does not mean they should be together that is the wrong type of love. Love should be genuine, meaning that a person should not change, just for someone to love them back. A person should love another for who they are, the good and the bad. Love in general can change a persons outlook, the way they view/see things or something that was already there, but just not as strong, but it should not change a persons character to suit anothers needs, just so they can be loved back that then is false love.

joisyhearts i don't think many fans realize this, but if you think about it, we are pretty hypocritical of damon, because his experience is not an experience any of us have ever had! It's like running a mile. many think that running a mile is much easier than it actually is. Same goes for Damon, i don't think we even have the RIGHT to judge him after what he's been through, since we don't really understand what he's been through

Realist1 ^ I'm not completely sure why your saying what your saying. Do you think I'm being hypocritical? Noone should judge anybody, but this is what happens in real life and this is only a fictional show, so no no, no one could understand what it's like to become a vampire. Though in reality people can understand about things like murder, rape, abuse etc. As this is a fictional show, it doesn't matter, because ^We are allowed to give are thoughts, opinions, likes and dislikes, because none of these characters feelings are getting hurt, as they are fictional. Anyway I'm talking about the here and now in regards to Damon. I can see why Damon, does certain things, but it does not make him right. I can see him being a better person, but I'm not going to make excuses for him, if he's wrong.

mandapanda Not to jump in here, but same thing can go for Stefan. People judge him, it seems more than Damon. Both were in the same boat. Vampires with a thirst for blood. And it's hard for both of them. Stefan overcame what Damon is going through. It doesn't make it any less hard. Both are struggling. Stefan just seems to handle himself better. Both are noble in their own way for trying to be better. Damon just needs a little more practice. :) And I'm sure Damon will get a chance if Elena chooses to give him one.

sasha317 I don't think Damon should be given a chance. I love Damon to pieces but the thought of him getting Stefans heavily used sloppy seconds really turns my stomach. He needs a lot of personal improvement to become a better person so he can love himself enough to not want to take whats his brothers. I'd rather see Damon realize what true love is rather than get his way with this obsession. This Delena thing is a classic case of "he beats me cause he loves me". Yes Damon is working hard at winning Elena's heart, but the other side of that coin is he is working hard as stabbing his brother in the back by stealing his girl. And that equals a fatal personality flaw! no matter how you cut it, that's the truth any how.

CindyX I Agree That Damon is still a Brutal Butcher, but even consider that maybe Elena has the same feelings for Damon but loves Stefan more and about Andy, I commend Andy alot because she cares so much to accept Damn ashe is but damon wouldnt let her, even though he has changed and he still has his ways believe that he should get a chance o prove that he can love her more than stefan,and i agree wit u Sasha, cause he does want to sab his brother in the back but he is working really hard and he should get a little chance

I Still think that he should be given a chance because if he isnt given a chance then that means that elena is punishing him for his old ways.....and because hes changed and is willing to change for her He should be given a chance, or at least he should kno that he can get a chance...
