It's supposed to be the other way around, she is sired to Damon because she loves him. When she broke up with Stefan in her mind it was final, she had no doubt about her choice. What the sire bond does is that she has to obey him, just like Tyler had to obey Klaus. but damon never ordered her to love him or to sleep with him, that was Elena's choice.
