The Vampire Diaries TV Show Question

when will the dumbass writers of the show realise that damon is way out of elena's league...that she should the the one lusting after him??

i will never forget them for taking an awesome character out of a series of awesome books n ruining it!!!

So because Elena doesn't instantly jump his bones the character is being ruined...?

again 'lust after' just a phrase i used..jumping anyonmez bones got ntn to do with it...and damon's character was supposed to have more substance than this,,the way he reacted to katherine's rejection was bad...the way he reacts to elena's rejection is worse. even vampires should have some self esteem

The Vampire Diaries TV Show Answers

SpuffyDelena said:
Damon and Elena are equals in every way. Yes, Damon lusts after Elena, and Elena OBVIOUSLY lusts after Damon, but DE aren't about 'lust'. Lust is shallow and so is this question, basically. The characters in the show are NOT the characters in the books, so get over it.

You don't get Elena (or respect her obviously) You don't get Damon. You don't get Delena.

I agree, he shouldn't. But that's just love. He can't help but love her even if he knows (or believes) she loves Stefan and hates him. He just can't help it. But it's one of the things that contribute to his humanity. :) Just like how Elena can't help it if she loves Stefan more than Damon.

If you really were so intent on having the characters just as though they were in the books, you would know that Damon would never do that to Elena in either the books, or the television show. Damon is still a person, deep down, and if his reactions are confident enough for you, then perhaps you should find a more vapid series to look into. I can suggest quite a few - believe me, I do this all the time, and I've read quite a few books where all the characters are are cocky, ridiculous characters with no humility. TV Damon is just as good as, if not better than, Damon's book counterpart. Saying that he lacks substance is an insult to the actor, and he works hard for his job. If you think that their relationship doesn't need any emotional depth, then you can't say you are a Delena fan. You can't say you're an Elena fan. You can't say you are a Damon fan. You can't even say you're a The Vampire Diaries fan. If you were, you'd be grateful that the writers put so much into trying to make us all happy every week, and you'd be happy with what they give you. You don't get Delena, and you never will, it seems.
