Ok, I am addicted to favids, I have seen millions, and I have tryed loads of free trials for software including Proshow gold, Movieshare, and they wern't that great every windows computer comes with Windows Live Movie Maker but it's not very good at all! But when I see a amazing fanvid I ask what software they use they all say Sony Vegas Pro (9,11 or 10) Now I had a look at sony vegas and you have to pay for it (of corse) and it ain't cheap but it seems to be the only sofware people use to make my favourite fanvids. But on youtube there will be loads of totourials to show you have to download Vegas Pro 11 for free! I however would try this but I stupidly really wanting to try Vegas Pro already downloaded the trial version, so I can't get the full version for freee!!! Hope this helps Oh and thsi person:

I also rip my dvd's with the software "WinX DVD Ripper Platinum". And her vids are pretty good so I would try downloading form there
