Stefan telling Elena she's better than both Damon and himself. What for? Is Elena really better than both Salvatore brothers?

i think that damon is much better than he thinks he is or would admit and that stefan is no where near as good as hed like to think he is, which we are seeing in season 3 and its harder to be good when you cant accept your faults which is why damon is better than stefan.
also, i think stefan said that, because he was just being a jealous ass!

I think it's Stefan's guilt talking more he knew after he found out about the kiss that he pushed her into Damon's arms by everything he's done, but probably if he had a choice he wouldn't want her to be with any vampire especially him or his brother right now with everything that has happened since they all met

i think he meant that they bring lot of trouble and drama into her life
