i am from england so i am a few episodes behind i just saw something about stefan and elanor break up is it true? and why?

Yes, its true that they broke up.
'Cause Aunt Jenna's in the hospital because of Katherine. She compelled Jenna to stab herself to her heart but good thing she survived. And Elena's really scared that maybe Jeremy will be the next.
She broke up with Stefan because, of Katherine. If she goes near him, Katherine will kill all of Elena's love ones. And I think Elena thinks, its for the better so no one will get hurt. :'(

I wished I cried in this scene.

yupp...elena broke up with stefan...well its for the best...to avoid ppl tht elena loved been hurt cause of them...not for they dont love each other anymore..cant stand stefan's tears..
