Chapter 2- Imposters?

Kristen took a good look at Peter when we were in the music room next period. He and Anna were in our music class as well.
“He seriously does,” Kristen said. Even though she had never read the book series, she had to deal with me talking about the series all the time, so she knew what the characters looked like.
“What about that girl, Anna, he hangs out with? Doesn’t she look like the character Sabrina? They act like the characters too,” I said, “maybe a little too much. Do you think they could actually be the people?”
“Nah, it can’t be,” Kristen disagreed.
“You’re right,” I admitted. “Wouldn’t it be really weird if it was them?”
“Yeah!” Kristen answered.
Then the music teacher, Ms. Lloyd, came up to us. She was pretty young, most likely in her mid-twenties. She had light red hair and a bubbly personality for most of the time. She reminded me of the actress Amy Adams.
“Are you girls ready?” she asked us.
Linda, Kristen and I exchanged looks.
“Yeah,” I said.
In music class, we had to read a story we made up to the class while we play a song in the CD player. The story is about an epic journey.
When we got up to the front of the class, Ms. Lloyd put in the CD. It was quiet for a long time. Somebody couldn’t take the silence and decided to break it by farting. We all broke out in laughter. I was laughing so hard that my eyes grew watery. I looked around the classroom to see who did it. Peter was rolling on the floor in more hysterics than anybody else was. People around him pinched their noses. Anna was yelling at Peter with her nose plugged too.
“Not appropriate at all for class!” Ms. Lloyd yelled. “You!”— She pointed at Peter— “Enough!”
Peter got back up on his chair. His face was still red from excitement.
“Sorry. I just had to have a little fun,” He said, grinning.
“Well, your fun is going to get you down to the office on your first day too,” Ms. Lloyd told him.
“Sorry,” he said again.

In the end of 5th period math, Anna came up to my desk.
“Hey,” She greeted me.
“Hey!” I greeted her back.
“Can I sit with you at lunch today? I don’t know anybody else,” She asked.
“Sure. I could make some room,” I told her.
“Great. When the bell rings can you show me where your table is?”
“Fine.”
Once the bell rang, I showed Anna and Peter to my lunch table. I think the table I sat at was the best spot you can eat in the lunchroom. Our table is separated from the clutter of tables, which are in the middle of the cafeteria. We sat right by a window so we got a lot of sunlight. Our table is also near the door you go in to get your lunch.“Here we are,” I announced as a put my heavy bag down under the table. “You guys can sit on that side of the table.” I pointed to where my friend Allie was sitting.
“Allie, is it okay if they sit by you and Victoria?” I asked.
“Yeah, it’s fine,” Allie answered.
Allie has brown eyes and a lighter shade of brown hair. Her skin is not as dark as mine is, but darker than Victoria’s. I would say she had an olive skin tone.
“Hi, Natasha!” I heard a girl calling me.
I turned around to see my friend Meredith. She sits with us every other day. Even though she was in 7th grade, she had 8th grade band so she had to eat lunch with us every other day. She has long blonde hair and hazel eyes.
“Hey!” I said. “New students are sitting with us today.”
“Who are they?” she asked.
“A boy named Peter, and a girl named Anna,” I told her.
That’s when I saw Matt put his backpack under the table next to Kristen’s and mine. I turned to him and told him about the new students sitting with us. He said he didn’t mind, and looked around the table. He saw Victoria, who had just came in, Meredith, Anna, and Peter.
“Whoa! This is the blondie table now!” He joked.
I laughed and said, “Matt!
After we all got our lunches, which was popcorn chicken, I started to talk.
“Anna, you are in all of my classes so far. Can I see your schedule?” I asked.
Anna reached in her backpack and pulled it out. She handed it to me.
“Oh my gosh!” I exclaimed while reading it. “You are in all of my classes! Even in chorus and blue day study hall with Mr. Kellish!”
“That’s cool!” Anna said as I gave her schedule back.
Then I noticed the way Peter ate. It was terrible! I watched him take a small piece of chicken and smash it into a load of ketchup. He inserted the chicken into his mouth and munched sloppily. When he put down his elbow, it landed in his mashed potatoes.
“Ew!” I yelped. “Here, take my napkin!”
I gave one to him. He took my napkin but instead of using it he ripped it into shreds.
“I don’t need a napkin,” He claimed, making a face. “I am happy with my filth.”
I couldn’t believe that he had just said that. I decided to ignore him. I turned to Anna and whispered, “Does he normally eat like this?” “    “Unfortunately, yes,” she answered with a sigh. “It only gets worse.”
“How?” I dared to ask.
“Well, he tends to—”
All of a sudden, we all heard a loud fart.
“ Fart,” Anna finished in a weak tone.
“EW! COME ON! WE ARE EATING HERE!” I yelled. I held my nose.
“That’s gross!” Vicky complained.
“EW!” Kristen shouted.
“Nice one!” Matt commented as he gave Peter a thumbs-up.
“I’m moving!” I declared.
All of my friends moved to the other side of the table besides Matt, leaving giggling Peter behind.
“Oh no!” I yelled. “Save the food! We have to save the food!”
Peter’s giggles turned into full-blown laughter. I ignored him as I grabbed my tray. I went back to the other side of the table and sat down.
“Anyway, I am making a new fan-fiction,” I announced. “It’s going to be about—”
“Wait,” Anna interrupted. “Fan fiction?”
“Yeah,” I said. “ I make what people call fan fiction and let my friends read them. It’s off of my favorite book series.”
“What’s that?” she asked. Anna started taking a long sip of milk.
The Sister’s Grimm ,” I answered.
Anna choked on her milk.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“I’m fine,” Anna said. She dabbed her lips with a napkin and put it down. “Did you say The Sisters Grimm?”
“Yeah. Did you ever read the books?” I asked.
“Not really. I’ve heard of them before,” She told me. “I heard that they are really adventurous. My life is also that way. I sometimes feel like I’m living in it!”
I heard Peter cough from across the table.
“If you want you can read them,” I suggested. “I’m not allowed to take them out of the house, but you can look for them in library or buy them at borders. Do you know they are making a movie?”
“SERIOUSLY?!” Anna and Peter yelled in unison.
“I’m serious!” I exclaimed. “It’s coming out in 2010. Well, the first one is anyway. It’s going to be a trilogy movie.”
“Cool!” Anna yelled. Somehow her enthusiasm seemed fake to me. “Anyway, I want to ask you something.” She lowered her voice. “Have you seen anything suspicious around here or anything crazy that you can’t explain?”
I thought for a second. I said, “No, I don’t think so. I’ll tell you if I do.”
The way Anna and Peter were acting made me feel weird. Is it really possible that they are actually Sabrina and Puck from the books? That was impossible. My imagination was known to be pretty wild, so I let that crazy theory slip.
I took a long sip of my chocolate milk in deep thought.
