Well, there is a point where your pregnant sim gets pregnant enough that she is allowed maternity leave and gets some days off work. Also, a while after she has given birth, she has another few days off work to help look after the baby. Just wait for the notification to come up that she is allowed to stay home, then you'll be fine and no one will get fired. Or if you want her to stay home anyway without getting fired, just call work and call in sick. I hope this helped :) x

No, I think when your Sim starts to get a bump a message comes up saying:

"*name of Sim* has been given *can't remember how many* days off to look after the baby"

or something like that hope that helps :P

They'll get a maternity leave while they're pregnant, I think it's 3-4 paid days off from work, so they won't get fired since they can't even go. I haven't played the Sims 2 in a while, I'm mostly on TS3, but I believe once the sim is born you also get a few more days off to take care of it before it becomes a toddler.

No. The first baby bump that appears a message comes up saying you have a been placed on maternity leave, you have I think a few days of personal time if not then maybe two, I can't remember the amount. :)
