I have a theory that Ryan was not talking to david( Dunder-Mifflin CFO). He is leaving Scranton for sure but he doesn't have enough credentials to work at corperate.
Almost everyone associated with the show has since said that Ryan will be Michael's new boss and that it will cause a huge shift in the dynamic between them.
Seriously, how is it that this is still up for debate?
I agree, Gstine. The Office has never been a soap opera where they make you think one thing and it's something else. The writers aren't sneaky, they let you know what's up. Ryan definetly got the job...it will be fun to see Dwight and Michael have to answer to the temp!!
One more thing, regarding Ryan's qualifications: Abysmal sales record aside, the boy clearly possess managerial skills. This goes all the way back to Boys and Girls. That assembly line idea probably would have worked perfectly had Stanley not been so bent on "running out the clock". So he can't actually sell paper himself? So what? As long as he can manage the people that are selling the paper effectively and efficiently, it doesn't matter.
Whoever wrote this question wasn't thinking straight. Read the question over. If you say yes to Ryan really transfering you could also be saying yes to him talking to someone else. Terrible job jonapello. tisk tisk. But good job on it not being a jam/pam question.
whoever wrote this question needs to learn English. oh, I just read Kovac's comment and it's the same as mine. But still, how/why did everyone answer this question? Seriously, this means that everyone who read the question decided "hey, this makes sense, I don't understand English either"
for the longest time i thought he was talking to someone else. it just didnt make sense. karen seems like the better sales person, so why give ryan the job?
but then i got to thinking, this is a documentary, right? why would they go out of their way to trick us? when you watch a documentary on lions, they dont show a it chasing a gazelle, then eatting some bloody carcas, then come back and show the gazelle skipping away, and find out it was actually eatting something else.
i dont know if any of that made any sense, so, in short, i think he got the job.
(btw, jonapelle23, i think your english is fine, lol.)
if you still think the english is fine, consider this. Do you think A is true or is B true? Yes or No answers only. You can't do it. And if you answered, you need to learn to read.
Guys there is no need to be so critical. It doesn't matter it is gramatically correct if you can understand it just answer the question. That's what I did. There is no reason to make people feel bad.
but I can't understand the question. there are two options and they are completely disconnected from the two possible answers. And I'm not being overly technical; you don't need Strunk and White to know that the question makes no sense. If you think it makes sense, tell me this, what does the answer "yes" mean?
Ok. we all know what he was talking about. whe know what he meant so what's the big deal?? it's all good!
But BJ Novak has already said in interviews that Ryan got the Job. and It would be too much of an upset if they didn't give Ryan the job. No one would be able to trust the Office anymore. It was implied. And earlyer in the episode Ryan said. "I dont do that anymore" when Michael asked him to do something for him.
