Karen was one of the reasons their relationship was so different when he came back. Karen was trying to change him. After he confessed he still loved Pam she was doing everything to keep them away from each other. I can't stand her for it!

I think he got with Karen just so he didn't have to deal with Pam. I mean, he didn't even start dating Karen until he found out that he was going back to Scranton. And even then, he told her to go to New York at first.

I think thats the type of guy Jim is. Even with Karen, you could almost see that Jim was slowly fixing things with Pam. Without Karen there though, I imagine it would've gone a lot faster!!!
