The Office 2 Tickets To The Launch Party???

Ok, so if Michael was only invited to the chat room party why did they send him two tickets? Did they send everyone 2 tickets? If it was just a chat room they wouldn't need tickets. Was it just for novelty? I am confused!

He probably just assumed he had two tickets.

It probably said that all VIPs got two tickets, and because Michael thought he was a VIP, he assumed he's get two tickets.

I think that saying "I have two tickets" was just his way of saving face when trying to get Pam or Jim to go with him. He didn't want to tell them that he was too embarrassed to go alone, so he made it seem like he just didn't want a ticket to go to waste. That's my interpretation anyway. :D

He just wanted to ask someone to go with him without having to say that he actually wanted someone to go with him!
