Dear NBC Official,
I am a large supporter of the writers’ strike. I was outraged to find out that such amazing writers as Michael Schur and Mindy Kaling are not being fairly compensated for the episodes you post online or put onto DVDs. If incredible shows like The Office and Saturday Night Live are going to suffer, so will your ratings. Fans like me will not watch whatever you throw at us.
I am positive this is not the first letter you have received regarding the strike. You are going to lose respect, viewers, and (most importantly to you), money. In order to support their favorite shows, people will stop buying DVDs and using your website. I used to use nbc.com. It was very convenient for me to be able to catch up on my favorite shows until I learned that the writers were not getting a cent of the ad revenue.
I might just be one fan, but this strike is affecting all the fans. And whose side do you think the viewers will be on, the side of the people who caused the strike (you), or the side of the people who write the shows they love?
I sincerely hope you get more letters like this. Us fans have minds of our own. We will not take whatever show you shove at us in replacement of our favorite scripted or sketch comedies. Please pay your writers, because while you probably have a lot of money now, I highly doubt you will once the canceling of your best shows causes the downfall of your network.
