Unlike the Beatles, our Fave Four mastered more than one musical genre & rightfully earned the appreciation of more than one section of the public. Compared to Micky, who can belt out R&B with the best, & to Mike, who integrates country-western & rock, the Beatles are a namby-pamby genteel, tea-&-crumpets group. They talk generic pacifism but never had to worry about being called to serve in Vietnam, like Micky and Davy were called. Our Fave Four have EARNED their success in more than one way. R.I.P. Davy Jones. He inspired me to learn piano, and is one of my three music heroes. I grew up hearing the Monkees music( even though I'm only 14) and I cried when I heard he was dead. I love the monkees, just went to see them in glasgow was brill although kept getting told to sit down who sits down at a concert wouldn't get away with that in aberdeen. Anyhow they were brill and loved them singing the head album as we go along is one of my favs and also mickey and pete sang words which i just love!!!! im 34 but been a fan since i was 17.... they should play the monkees series again so the younger generation get to see em... love em!!!!! humour brill music and voices!!!!!!!!
