It was so unthinkable, the idea of her fearing anything.
To him she was just as fearless as Haruhi, and would be so willing to do anything.
But he was wrong.
"Hey, you in here, Haruhi?" Kyon greeted, answering the door. "Nope, she ran off again." Tsuruya replied, wiping her eyes.
"What's wrong, Tsuruya-san?"
"You'd think I was a baby if I told you."
"No I wouldn't."
Sighing, Tsuruya gave in, handing Kyon one of the many flyers that had been given to her.

Haruhi's probably gonna let the SOS Brigade enter this, Kyon thought. His thoughts cut off when he heard a sob. It was Tsuruya, who had curled up into a ball. "A singing, parody, or skit show? How's that so bad?" He asked. "How's it bad? It's megas bad!! There's supposed to be one performer from each class, and my class chose me!" Yelled the green-haired girl, who started crying.
She's crying. Tsuruya-san is CRYING. Putting an assuring hand on her shoulder, Kyon kneeled down next to her. "I thought you liked performing. And I know your'e a good singer. Remember when I heard you sing Hare Hare Yukai while walking to school?" "You heard that? Well...thanks. I know, I like performing, but it's just, I don't like performing in front of people....I have...stage fright."
"You? Stage fright?"
"Y-Yes..."
"It's okay."
"No it isn't! You don't know what it's like to just stand there, frozen while everyone's staring at you, waiting for you to do something! It's...embarassing! That's why I never wanted to perform in front of people."
"Did something like that happen?"
"Yes..."
"Your'e on, Tsu-chan."
The five-year-old Tsuruya nodded, then looked around, nervous. "Do I have to do this?" She asked.
"You know we're counting on you."
"O-Okay."
Walking on stage, Tsuruya stumbled over to the michrophone. She then saw the crowd, staring. After seeing that crowd, she knew she couldn't do it. She tried to run away, but she couldn't move. A few students started booing until their mothers shushed them. Tsuruya began to feel the tears streaming down her face as she ran backstage.
"From then on, I was known as the "Frozen Girl" or "That Girl Who Just Stood There". The worst part of it is...I let my class down. I don't ever want that to happen again. I don't want to be embarassed again." Tsuruya sobbed. She opened her eyes to see Kyon slowly wiping her tears. "Tsuruya, you don't need to think any of that. Trust me, when you come on stage, I'll be there, watching and cheering you on. You don't have to be afraid."
"Your'e....your'e going to come and see me?"
"I promise."
"Ohhh, Kyon!"
Tsuruya smiled as she pulled Kyon into a hug and a kiss on the lips. "Tsu-Tsuruya! What are you doing?" Asked Kyon when he broke away. "Thanking you. That was one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me." Tsuruya replied.
"I've got to practice. See ya tonight, nyoro!"
