"So, Yuki, are you gonna go home now?"
She nodded.
"I see!", I said as I walked up to the window.
She stood up, and put on her jacket and scarf. I was looking out the window. I turned to Yuki.
"Hey, do you know any places around here where I can spend the night at? I'm sure as hell not going back to the house I came from." - I shrug.
"W-Well, do you want want to spend the night at my place...?"
"Uh... Sure why not, thanks, that's really kind of you and all, but... it doesn't bother you at all to invite a complete stranger to your home?"
"Well, you seem like a nice person, so I don't mind."
"Huh... thanks, I guess."
She smiled back and nodded. She picked up her bag and we started to walk to her apartment. As we went past the convenient store I ran in to buy some chicken noodles.
We finally reached the apartment building. We were standing in the elevator for a few minutes. We walked up to her room, 708. As we entered, she turned on the lights and we both left our shoes at the entrance. I went to the kitchen to get some boiling water. After a few minutes, the water was done. I put the water in a bowl along with the noodles. I walked into the living room. Yuki was sitting on the floor, watching TV. It was some weird game show. She had taken off her jacket and scarf. I put down the bowl on the table and took out some chopsticks.
"Do you like noodles?", I ask her.
"I, uh, have never tried it..."
I gave her the sticks.
"Try it, I'm sure you'll love it."
She tried a little.
"Tastes good."
"I know, right?"
After eating the noodles, I left the bowl in the kitchen for dishes later.
There was still some boiling water left. So I made tea for the both of us.
I looked at the clock at noticed that it was already 23:51. So I should go to bed after drinking with her. I entered the living room with the cups. Then I noticed she had already changed onto her pajamas. I almost dropped the cups because I got so surprised. She's one quick girl, that's for sure. I handed her a cup. We started drinking without making a noise. The TV was still on, but now it was a Korean drama series playing. It looked really sad, but I wasn't paying attention because I was too busy drinking with Yuki. We were both almost finished drinking, but Yuki spilled some tea on her shirt. She was squealing because it was so hot. I jumped up, surprised.
"Crap, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, thanks, I'll be right back."
She quickly ran to the bathroom and closed the door behind her. I slowly followed her and knocked on the bathroom door.
"Yo, you okay there? Need any help?"
"Yeah, I just need a different shirt. Can you bring me one from the living room? There's a bunch in the drawers"
"Sure, I'll be back in a second."
I went back to the living room and looked in the drawers for some fresh shirts. Searching through a girl's clothes – that feels so dirty, but hey, the things I do to help a friend I guess. Heh, calling Yuki a friend already. Feels kind of nice.
I found one and returned to the bathroom door. I knocked.
"Hey, I brought you a shirt you asked for."
"Thanks. Uhmm, okay, I'll unlock the door now, and when I do, can you please look away while I take the shirt?"
I kind of realized what she meant.
"Got it. No problem."
I heard the door lock click and I quickly turned away, then I felt Yuki grabbing the shirt from my hand and locking the door. I sigh with relief. Imagining a top-less Yuki was a kind of... unnerving, to say the least.
She came out with a different shirt. I left the cups at the table and joined her in the guest room.
"Sorry about that.", I said scratching my head.
"I-It's okay... It's not your fault", she said as she was still buttoning her new shirt.
I sighed in relief.
"So, any couches around here which I can sleep on?"
She shook her head slowly. I kind of baffled.
"Ah, sleeping on the floor then – Classic."
She blushed.
"Y-Yeah, I guess so..."
I lay down on a the mattress she put down for me, and she lay down on the other. I was trying to sleep, but it was so hard with her next to me, even though we were facing away each other. Several thoughts ran through my head. I wonder how she was feeling about this. Does she like me? As a person of course. I sure as heck hope so. She finally fell asleep. She was snoring very quietly. I lay there for almost an hour without sleep. Finally, I turned to her, and got a good look at her face, even though it was dark.
I briefly smiled.
"For a two dimensional character, you really ARE beautiful, aren't you, Yuki?", I whispered and then fell asleep.
She nodded.
"I see!", I said as I walked up to the window.
