In the original script (which was started 2-3 years before Simba's Pride was released) there were no Outlanders. It was only Zira (then known as Bianca), Kovu, and the three hyenas. In this script, Kovu was Scar's son. This was changed because if Zira was Scar's mate, then why would she team up with the hyenas, who killed Scar. They also had to change the fact of Kovu being Scar's son because that would be bordering on incest. (It would make Kovu and Kiara second cousins.)

Kathleen Turner was originally going to be the voice of Zira. Christian Slater was going to do the voice of Adult Kovu.

Zira's original death, which is a special feature in the DVD version, features the same dialogue as the scene which ended up in the film until Kiara says "I'll help you." Kiara lands on a rock where she is safe and tries to help Zira, who is in danger of falling in to the flooded canyon, but Zira, with a twisted grin, replies "No. Never." and releases her claws from the cliff, falling into the swollen river below and committing suicide.

This was considered too dark for a Disney film and was changed, though even in the final version Zira can still be seen smiling as she falls.She is smiling because she believes that she is going to be with Scar again

At the end climax of the film, Zira was originally supposed to commit suicide. This was only changed towards the very end of production.

Although some store merchandise shows Kovu's older brother Nuka as a cub, he is never shown in the movie as one. The first you see of him is as an equivalent of a teenager.

'Vitani' (Zira's daughter) was, at first, called 'Shetani'. This name means 'Devil' in the Kiswahili language, and Disney might have thought that it was unsuitable. The name 'Vitani' has no meaning. If you listen to the characters, you may hear them call her 'Shetani' at some points.

bendaimmortal Where is this information coming from? You state the source of only one of these many "facts", making only one of them an actual evident fact. (Yes you mention also that one of them is from the original script but where can the original script or the film makers' statement of it be found?) You can't call a thing a fact unless you refer to an official source of the information. (: Like, people take as a fact that Kiara was supposed to have a brother named Chaka in this film but they cut him out of the script at some point but no one ever states an official source of informatiion, resulting in Chaka ever existing to be not a fact but a rumour.

mogositymo12 No it was not supposed to be chaka, it was supposed to be kopa. At the lion king 1 at the end there was a cub that was pale than kiara when kiara was put up to the pride rock!!

bendaimmortal ^ That is not true. It was never supposed to be Kopa. Ever. Kopa wasn't even created by Disney. 1.) On the commentary track of the film in 1995 the cub's creators didn't call it Kopa, even though Kopa already existed in the books since 1994 (but way after the film had first been published). So, it was never Kopa. 2.) And the reason why they didn't turn their creation into Kopa, is likely because Kopa indeed is a fanmade character while Disney Animation always, ALWAYS uses their own, original characters OR alternatively characters from some old, epic tales while Kopa is neither. Another reason for the ignoring Kopa was likely because Kopa is a clone of cub Simba in every possible way. In canon and officiality, the cub at the end was never Kopa.

I really wonder how do people see "so many plot holes"? Because I can see ONLY TWO and even they are relative.

A plot hole is something that causes the plot or a part of the plot to not add up or to not make sense. These two movies don't have such, as all you have to do is pay attention to what is said and how it is said, and at some points to use common sense.

1.) The cub's design and the ceremony.

But officially that is not a plot hole. As Disney has made it official it is "Fluffy"/Kiara in the movie universe. As in introduced no one else in the movies - basically we just have to accept that...
