I liked this version more because it's shows more action and it feels modern. The people say it's even better than the book and I agree (even though I planned not to read it). I don't seem to care much for the 1936 movie of the same name. That and it's the most frequently watched movie of Sir Daniel Day-Lewis alongside The Age of Innocence.
