Chapter One: Madison Grace Jonas

"She's beautiful,"he whispered as he lifted the newborn up in his arms. She shifted a bit in her sleep, snuggling up to her daddy's chest. He blinked back tears as he rocked her in his arms and the doctor came up to him.

"Mr. Jonas?"

"Yes?"his body tensed up as he looked up at the doctor, wiping his eyes. The doctor tucked his clipboard under his left arm.

"Your wife...is gone."

The world froze. He had prepared himself for this moment, but it didn't stop his heart from breaking. Nick took the baby from him as he sat down, face pale.

I was five when it happened. When I lost my twin brother, who also happened to be my best friend. At first, I didn't understand what was going on, but after time, I realized I would never see my brother again. Kevin and Nick were my brothers, but it wasn't right without Joe there. He was a part of me.

Sometimes I still think of Joe, when I'm writing a new song, or when I take a walk in the park. I especially think of him whenever we travel to Arizona or New Jersey. We were born in Arizona, and raised in Ne Jersey. Both special places.
