Urg she totally does. Whatever happens to gale all we know is that he has some job in district 2. :( as to prim dying I really have no idea why it couldn't be someone else.

Well if Gale actually loved Katniss he wouldn't have left. Plus it was one of his bombs that killed Prim.

I think it was to show the same thing as Rue's death which was the death of innocent people for no cause at all :/
