Why did Cameron quit the competition?

Basically what happened is this:

In the episode "Pairability", he was paired up with Lindsay. She wanted to make her and Cameron's performance special, so she decided to kiss Cameron at the end of the video. Afterwards, Cameron called his mother and told her he felt like he cheated on his girlfriend at home.

Later on in "Sexuality", he was paired with Hannah, and the choreographer (I think) gave him the direction to kiss Hannah. He remembered what happened in "Pairability", and decided to stick with his decision on not kissing Hannah. Later on, he did a last chance performance for Ryan, and told him that the sexuality thing wasn't for him at the moment. So he told him in the dressing room that he wanted to quit. Luckily, Ryan told Cameron that he saved Damian from elimination.

It's kinda sad. I really wanted him to stay. But at least Damian was still in the competition, so...
