I'll put a list of my favorite shows so you'll have some background of what I like... Feel free to recommend something that isn't on the pick, I just have those three in mind right now:

I haven't seen the other two, but if you like The Office, you'll probably like Parks & Rec. It's pretty awesome. =D

Casting, direction, writing, STUNNING VISUALS, acting, and over all production value is something that has not been witnessed before. 100% perfect.

There is however, no instant gratification. The first season is essentially a tiny chapter of the full epic story. I only fully realized the vastness of where its headed during the final scene of the finale, when I had to pick my jaw off the floor.

This show is more like watching a really long movie. It is done so well. Not only is it pretty to watch the story is amazing. Of all the shows that have come out this one is epic. Also, Dexter is really good too.

Start with any of them. They're great products.

I don't know the other two shows and GoT is one of the best shows ever. Fantasy isn't really my type of show but as soon as I started watching it I absolutely loved it.

This or Game of Thrones, you can't wrong with either of them cause both are great.

YEEEEEES! Pleeeeeease?? I'll make a strong case to make anyone watch P&R. I love Got and you should watch that too (maybe at the same time as Parks to balance drama and comedy). Dexter has a great first season and fourth season but the rest... I don't know, Parks and GoT first at least

^I've found that Dexter seems to go through a kind of 'leap year' of quality. Once a show usually hits a mediocre season, you know the show is winding down, but NOT with Dexter. It'll have an entire season filled with meh than all the sudden sheer magnificent brilliance in the next.
