Why can't Torchwood let its characters live?

Pretty much every 24 death. David, Teri, Renee, Omar :( 24 doesn't like to keep people alive. Edgar's death was the most depressing thing I've ever seen. I can never watch that scene without losing it.

When she died, after all those years of saving the world and being one of the most suffered characters on TV, it was just a big why to me. What if the show would've ended up there? :'(
That would've been unfair.

It's just so sad to me that Keith gets shot by his brother after trying to help Jimmy. Plus he had just finally gotten engaged to the love of his life, who was pregnant with his daughter, when he died.

This is one of the saddest death ever. But it's still one of the best THE OC scene. Keith Scott, Jo and Jenna's death were very sad too.

Tara was one of my favorite characters. It was also sad when Fred and Wesley died on Buffy's spin off show Angel
