This is not meant to offend anyone. I mean, they were okay at first - I know I dont have to answer them but they just clutter my updates and its annoying me. Theres like 15 rounds of each battle which are all minutes apart and from about 10 different people each day and its just annoying me now. I admit that I do vote on them occasionally but this is only because I want to support my favourite show or character, but that doesnt remove the fact that theyre getting on my nerves now. Its just too much lol. I mean, I wouldnt mind if they were apart from each other, but theyre literally like a maximum of 15 minutes apart from each other and its just clogging up all my updates and its giving me a headche. Im not gonna stop becoming a fan because i love television

But am i the only one who thinks this or dont they bother anyone else?? On other spots the 'battles' are fine because they dont clog up your updates, its just on this club.

I get what you're saying, and it's hard to keep up with all the picks now...but i'm really glad that the spot is so active. I didn't like them at first, but now I really enjoy them : )

It's picks like those that make me wish I could filter my updates by spot. I want to see the picks for other spots but I really don't care about the bajillion rounds of fav picks on the this spot. It gets to be the same shows, same characters over and over and over and over again, just rearranged a gazillion times. They're so unoriginal and don't really inspire very interesting discussions. And they clog my updates. Like I said, it makes me wish I could filter out just the TV spot picks. :(

I get annoyed by some of the spammy updates from the Random spot & the Twilight spot etc. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna complain about it.

Ive said a thousand times, they just clutter my updates.. yeah they might not clutter your updates, but everyone has different updates and everyone comes online at different times, so yeah. I may be overexaggurating a tiny bit but that's only because there's so many of them and it literally filled a page of my updates earlier with the exception of 2 or 3 from the Random spot.

When I come online, the first thing I do all the time is check my updates. Then go to pick questions because theyre my favourite thing to do on this website - but instead of seeing a variation of different questions, I just see "Battle of my favourite _______ (Round 15)" and its like wtf? If there was 3 rounds, fair enough. Even 5. But 15? All in a matter of half an hour? Sorry but I just find that hard to ignore really, especially since its staring me right in the face.

That we're gonna have the same question from different people is a given on this spot but I do like a little bit of variety! Maybe one pick different per page of picks and I could deal with all the others.

I don't even think the "Battle of favorite" picks are the problem. Like Sarah (SG1-090) said, it's the "1-10's fav male V fav female V fav couple V fav show" that are in this spot the most. A person made it at first and then everybody else started taking the idea. Which i don't mind, to be honest. Like sk91 said, as long as they are without caps and with good icons, i'll have fun answering them.

About the "Battle of favorite" ones, i thought it would be fun to make them. It's obviously a lot of picks (14) because there are lots of characters. Would you like me to just put 80 characters in one pick?
Round 2 also have 14 picks, because it's the ONLY way to have the picks all with the same number of options (42:3=14).
But Round 3 will only have 7 picks. The number of picks will only get shorter as the rounds go on.
I have put lots of time in these picks. For example, i don't choose which characters are together in the picks, i actually give a number to every character and then use a site (random.org) to get the numbers combinations. And i never use the same icon for the same character. I can't do all of this in 5 minutes. Not even a hour is enough.

It may sound silly to a lot of people, but i like it. And since 77% of the users love them/are okay with them, i will continue to make them.

Oh, and by the way. No, i'm not after a medal. I have a die-hard and i've added 1095 videos and 8709 images to this spot. I don't think a few picks would make any difference.

Ok...wow. Why are people acting so defensively over this? It's ok for some people to like something and other people not to...and for them to express those different opinions.
But I think this settles it...I was hoping that eventually those types of picks would die out, but they seem to be garnering a lot of support which probably means they're here to stay. I think I'll go ahead and leave the TV Spot. It's not one of my fav spots, it seems I hardly participate/contribute here and it takes up quite a bit of my updates.
So I guess I'm going to take stickymonkey's advice and 'Go get a life'! ;DD

Wtf? Why are people hating on me just because of my opinion? I mean seriously, I've HAD enough with people on fanpop hating me just for my opinion. I feel I cant even have a freakin' opinion on this website anymore. I've been on since June 2009 and Fanpop is one of my favourite websites but I actually feel like I want to leave. I might leave. Sorry but this is Fanpop; it's a friendly website. I was so scared to make this pick because I knew people would just moan at me and I'm SICK OF IT. Cas_Cat_2, I'm not really talking about you because you were one of the first to do them which is fine. The other picks you mentioned in your post such as "1-10s fav male" are what bothers me alot too btw. Thats kinda what I meant when I made this pick, but when I made this pick what I saw was "Battle of the favs" so it stuck in my head and I wrote it in the pick and now I cant change it sorry. If people want to ask some I'm fine with that, but I think it's inconsiderate to do so many at once. I've missed picks and comments on other spots because they were pushed off my updates. Also, if people did them in smaller groups they'd get lots more answers too. I don't even bother with them anymore, because there's always a big freakin' wall of them in my updates, so I usually skim past any huge group of picks from this spot without even reading them. Obviusly I'm not the only one, because the ones done in huge chunks never get half as many responses as the ones done in more sanely sized groups.

They make this spot less fun and less active in terms of comments, because nobody bothers to ask interesting questions anymore, since everyone knows it will just get buried by a huge wall of 'which of my favoutire ______'s is best *round fiftyfivethousand*'

You also have to keep in mind, those picks aren't the only thing in people's updates, people are members of other spots too. Once there were 3 different people in 3 different spots doing 'round one/two/three/etc' picks at the same time. I missed so much on other spots because these three people all did about twenty each at the same time. There was literally nothing but 'round___' picks in my updates.

Bascally, if you want to do them that's great, just don't do such huge aounts at once, because they put everyone out, even the people doing them, since it stops the pick makers getting half the amount of responses as they'd get if they did a normal amount at a time.

I personally dont actually understand how so many are done at once, i did all nthe favotie tv shows begining with A and so and so on and that took me 3/4 hours to do and thats only 26 picks, like i said Cas i know you have added alot of content as have i to this spot but the way these picks have been done it does seem very much like spamming and i usually just leave spots that get spammed constantly, but i dont want to have to do that on this spot i dont understand why these picks cant be spaced out over a longer period like give them each a couple of days then do the next round! Thats all i think every is asking!

Also people are allowed opinions on Fanpop thats what its always been like, this is not a hate pick it is asking for a matter of opion, from how i read it Mongoose was not looking to peeve anyone off, just wondering if anyone felt the same. Ive done these kinds of picks countless times and ive never recived any backlash like this i recived contrustive arguments as to why people disagree

I get what you people mean, i honestly do. But like i said, IMHO i don't really mind the picks, as long as they are well made, have good icons, and all of that. Also, i don't blame people for making the same picks over and over again, because each user is thinking "These picks are fun. What would be my list like? Maybe i should make it".

You know? I'm a bit like that too sometimes.
But of course having tons and tons of pages with all the same type of picks can be annoying, i understand that.

Yeah livelydebate thats what I mean. Its making me not want to even be a fan of television anymore on this website because of the 35 round picks (thats not an over exagguration - one person did 35 rounds which is just over the top) and its just annoying me now.

Mine picks meant to be like a survivor game, and with each round the number of picks and options gets smaller.

Tbh, i'm almost afraid to continue and make them, because i get that after 35 rounds of other random picks in caps, people are just TIRED of picks. lol
