Because in the grand scheme of things, a la carte cable would be more expensive than a packaged collection.

We already have that where I live (Canada). In fact, that's our only kind of cable service, and it is actually much cheaper because about every channel cost's $4.00 dollers each here.

NO, not really, it depends on how many channels you actually watch, and GOD, I hope so, I've been waiting for that for years!

Besides, they could have bundles for it, just in a different way, instead of them picking what channels, just give you 50 channels and let you pick which ones, it's stupid when you like a channel but have to pay $20 for a bigger package when you only want one or two channels between that package and the lower one, just stupid!
