Star's POV
I have a date is all I thought when I boarded the bus on my way to the mall. I felt ecstatic. I felt like my heart would explode with content. I couldn't stop smiling. I was going on a date with Noah! I got off the bus and walked one block to the mall. When I entered the mall, I decided to buy a new bathing suit. It was my first date to a water park after all. I went to Ujena. When I walked into the store, a lady who worked there came up to me and said, "Hi. May I help you?"
"Yes. I'm looking for a two piece swimsuit that isn't too revealing."
"If you would just follow me, Miss." I followed her to where they had the halter top bikinis. "Hope you find something you like. If you need me, I'll be by the entrance."
"Thnak you so much." She smiled then walked away. I skimmed through the first rack and went to the second. I saw it. A black halter bikini. "Perfect." I looked at the price. "Woah." I went back to the entrance of the store to find the lady. I went up to her and said, "Do you have a clearance rack with those same types of swimwear?" I was referring to the halter top bikinis.
"Yes. Follow me." I followed her to the clearance rack with the halter top bikinis. "Here you go."
"Thank you again." She smiled and left again. I immediately tried to find the same black halter top bikini I saw earlier. I did. I looked at the price. It wasn't too bad. At least I could afford it. I grabbed it off the rack and went to purchase it.
"There you go", said the woman behind the counter as she put my swimsuit inside a bag. She handed me the bag.
"Thanks." I left the store. I looked at the clock. It was 2 o'clock. I decided to go get a mani/pedi,but first I had to get something to eat. I was starving. I went into a nail salon. "Hi", I said. "I'd like to make an appointment."
Noah's POV
"Go Francine", screamed my mother. "Woo!" My sisters' team was winning. The score was 5 to 3.
"C'mon girls,go!" I had to admit, seeing my sisters run around that soccer field made me feel good. My mom was happy, my sisters were happy, and that made me happy. "Woo!" Francine scored another goal. It was 3 o'clock. The game was almost finished.
When it ended, my sisters were handed mini-trophies by their coach. We got in the car. All my sisters could talk about was how Francine scored the winning goal. "The goalie didn't see it coming", exclaimed Francine.
"I know right", said Margret.
"Mommy, didn't Francine do a good job today", asked Alicia.
"Yes she did. All of you did. I'm proud of all of you", said my Mom. We pulled into our driveway.
Star's POV
It was 3:30. I had to get back to the nail salon for my appointment. I ran to the elevator with a full stomach. I pressed the floor number that the nail salon was on. I got off the elevator. When I got to the nail salon, I told the lady my name and she got started on me right away.
-----------2 Hours Later-----------
"Thank you, come again", said the woman who did my nails. I left the salon. It was 5:30. I thought of what to do next. I can't afford to get my hair done, I thought, so that leaves shoes. By shoes, I mean sandals of course. I went to a shoe store. I purchased my black sandals for ten dollars.
By the time I left the mall, it was 6 o'clock. By the time I got to the bus stop, it was 6:25. By the time I got off the bus at my stop, it 6:35. When I stepped into the house, it was 6:50. My mom was still eating dinner. "Hey Mom!" I was in the kitchen.
My mom put her dish in the sink and ran over to study me. "Honey, what happened to you?"
"It's no big deal. I just got mani/pedi." I felt out saying that word aloud.
"Really? You look so different. I love it."
"Thanks Mom."
She notices by two shopping bags. "What'd you buy?"
"Oh, nothing." Before I knew it, she grabbed my shopping bags from me.
"Doesn't look like nothing to me. Looks like you got some sandals and a new bathing suit. Where are you headed?"
"Well, I'm going on a", I hesitated. "Date."
My mom froze. She looked at me with a blank stare. "A date?"
"Yeah."
"When? With who?"
"Tomorrow. This guy from school." I smiled at the thought of Noah.
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah. You aren't going deaf, are you?"
"Star, you have that gymnastics tornament tomorrow."
"What?" I ran to the calendar. Under tomorrow's date was written 'Star's Gymnatics Tornament'. "Crap!"
"Star..."
"Sorry mom." Well this is great. The guy of dreams finally asks me on a date and I have to miss it. I headed up to room. I shut my door, got on my bed, layed on my back, and stared at the ceiling while turned upside down. That's what I always did when I'm frustrated or sad. I don't throw a tantrum or cry. I just let the blood go to my head, scream into a pillow, or both. My mom walked into my room. She sat on the bed.
"I'm sorry honey."
"It's not your fault,Mom."
"Maybe you could go on that date the day after tomorrow?"
"I guess so." My mom left the room. She knew there was no way of cheering me up whenever I said that. She closed the door behind her. As soon as she did,I quickly grabbed a pillow and screamed into it, "Ugh! I hate my life!"
Noah's POV
By the time we got home, it was 8 o'clock. My sisters talked themselves to sleep. When I got out off the car, I woke my siters up while my mom went to unlock the door. When we got in the house, my sisters walked tiredly to the stairs. As they went up, my mom said, "I'll be up there in a minute, girls." My sisters gave a tired nod of the head.
When they were completely gone, my mom asked me, "So what did you talk about with you little friend this morning?"
"She was checking to see how I was feeling, Mom."
"C'mon. I know that wasn't the only you thing talked about. Did you ask her on a date?"
"Mom, stop being intrusive. That's none of your business."
"Fine, fine. I won't penetrate in you business."
"Thank you." My mom followed me up the stairs. I headed to my room while she headed to my sisters' room.
When I got my room, I got undressed. I decided I would shower in the morning. Then I remembered what happens tomorrow. I've got my date with Star tomorrow. I couldn't wait. I was waiting to ask her out for a whole year, and now I'm really happy I finally did. I fell asleep with a smile on my face and that's how I slept through out the whole night.....................
