"I kissed Duncan... I. Kissed. Duncan." I told my best friend Leshawna, just two days after my date with Duncan. Leshawna and I were in my room on Friday night. "What?!" she exclaimed. "You kissed that arrogant self centered son of a bitch, girl?! What's wrong with you?!"
"More like he kissed me. I was gonna run away, but he had his hand on the back of my head, and he pulled me closer and he kissed me!"
"What, do you like him now or something?!"
I looked at the ground silently. "I really don't know. I still hate him for making fun of Pen, and always making fun of Trent..."
"By the way, what up with Trent treating you like his child?" Leshawna pointed at me. "Ohh, my FREAKING GOD, he said I should get 'health conscious' food, and he said not to use the word 'God', and he always was 'caring about me' in the WEIRDEST of ways. Like the thought he was my parent!"
"Anyways... You gonna do something with Duncan sometime soon?"
I scrunched up my face. "Oh PLEASE, girl. I know you loved that kiss. ADMIT IT!"
"Ew, no!" I lied. I glanced off to the side. "I just... UHG. I don't know if I like him or not." I got up and ran upstairs quietly. My mom and 14 year old brother were asleep.
I grabbed some chips from the cupboard and ran back downstairs to the downstairs flat screen. Me and Leshawna pigged out on chips as we watched that new reality show Total Drama. "Boy, do I feel bad for those saps who have to be on THAT SHOW!" Leshawna laughed.
[A/N: Oh, the irony... X)]
My cell phone began to ring. "Hang on a sec." I walked over into my room, leaving a hysterically laughing Leshawna in the TV room.
I answered my phone. "Hello?"
"Hey, babe." Oh God, it's Duncan. "Err, how'd you get my phone number?"
Silence.
"I have my connections." he said finally. I rolled my eyes. "What do you want at this time of night?" It was 10:30 PM. "I was wondering if you wanted to do something Saturday." Duncan said simply. The blood started to rush to my cheeks. "Um, hang on a sec." I pressed the mouth piece to my shoulder, muting the sound. I ran over to my door way. "Leshawna!"
"Hm?"
I pointed to the phone urgently. "Oh! Say yes, girl, say yes!!" replied Leshawna excitedly. I put the receiver back to my mouth. "Er, sure. Where we gonna go?"
"I just wanna hang out. That cool with you? Or am I gonna jock the place up?" Duncan laughed hysterically. "OK, enough with the puns. Let's say, noon? The park?"
"Hmm, a little childish. I like it. The park at noon. See ya there." he hung up.
"Leshawna are you willing to go to the park at noon?" I looked up from my phone. "Hey, if you want me to come along-"
"I really don't." Leshawna looked at me surprised. "Want to be alone with your new boyfriend, girl?" she snickered. "He isn't my boyfriend, I just need someone to hang out with, and we've already, y'know, kissed once, but that doesn't mean he's my boyfriend. Besides, I feel looser around him. Even though he can still be a bitch."
"Come on, there's a new episode of Total Drama coming on right now, girl. Let that settle your mind- The pain of other people!" she let out a chuckle.
[A/N: Once again, THE IRONY! XD]
"Oh, how I wish the pain of Duncan was on there. That would make me feel better." I laughed, sitting down next to Leshawna on the couch.
The next morning, Leshawna went home at like 10 o'clock. I showered quickly, brushed my long black and blue hair until it was silky smooth, and got on my casual clothes. A tank top with a V-neck on top, with a mini skirt and leggings. That took at least an hour, surprisingly. Putting on my shoes, I ran upstairs to grab a water bottle. "Going to meet Duncan?" My little brother asked, sitting down on a seat. "None of your business, John." I snorted, grabbing a water bottle, filling it up with water and ice.
[A/N: Hey, it was either John or Cody. XD He seems like a Cody to me!]
I ran out into the garage and hopped on my bike. Riding to the park, I felt like I was 12 or something. Riding to a park to see my friend. Heh.
Arriving at the park, I saw Duncan was already there, leaning against the swing set. He had on his normal red jersey with his dark green jeans and his tennis shoes. "You're a little late, sweetheart!" Duncan shouted, pointing to an imaginary watch on his wrist. "It's exactly noon!" I laughed, locking my bike to the bike rack. I walked over to him. "Move, I need to get on a swing."
"Say pleeease!" teased Duncan.
"Bitch." I pushed him out of the way, causing him to fall flat on his face. I burst out laughing. "HAHA, FAIL!"
"Hey, you're the one who pushed me!" He pushed me off of the swing, causing me to fall flat on my back. "OW!" I growled deeply in my throat. "You're gonna get it!"
"In your dreams!"
I jumped up and chased him around the park. "GET OVER HERE!" I shouted at Duncan. "NEVEEERRRR!!" He shouted over his shoulder. He advanced. DAMN he's fast!! I stopped to catch my breath, but Duncan kept going, thinking I was still behind him. When I looked up from the ground, I saw Trent. Oh no.
"Hanging out with Duncan...?" His voice was cold. "Yeah, what's it to ya?" I asked, equally as cold. "I thought you hated him."
"I don't as much anymore." I shot back, starting to press on, but then Trent grabbed my arm. "Why do you like him?" He whispered in my ear. "Is he better than me?"
"T-Trent, please, p-please st-"
"Answer the question, Gwen. I thought you always got straight A's, which is surprising."
"OK, that's enough!" I pulled away from his grasp. "Leave me alone!"
"Yeah, leave her alone." Duncan put a hand on my shoulder, glaring at Trent. "You lay another finger on her, I can guarantee your death is gonna come sooner than you thought it would."
"What, you think just because you're a jock you can boss everyone around?" shouted Trent defensively. "G-guys..." I started. "I'm not bossing you around, I'm telling you to keep your hands off my girl!"
"D-"
"Your girl?! YOUR girl?!" Trent roared. "What makes you think Gwen would ever fall for a guy like you?!"
"The fact that she used to be with a total douche-"
"ENOUGH!" I shouted. Duncan and Trent looked over at me angrily, like I had just interrupted a very important conversation. "What do you want, Gothie?" asked Trent very very coldly. I felt like running away and hiding in a dark corner. Duncan put his arm around my neck. I hugged him tight. "Get out of here." he pointed in Trent's face, his voice low and menacing. "This isn't over," Trent pointed back, and stormed off.
Hugging Duncan even tighter, which felt weird, I asked quietly, "What's gotten into him...?"
"Jealousy that I get to be with a great girl like you? I mean a bitchy girl like you?"
"Aww, Duncan has feelings." I mocked. "No I don't. I just, he was gonna, y'know, hurt you." he muttered. He must not like talking about caring about someone. Lightly pushing the hair out of my face, he kissed my forehead. "I ain't so bad now, am I, sunshine?" he teased. "I guess you're tolerable." I chuckled. "Nobody's perfect." Duncan shrugged.
"I hate that song."
"Who doesn't?"
"Little 12 year old girls? Or boys?"
I punched him on the arm and started to chase him again. Eventually, I tackled him onto the ground. "HA!" I exclaimed victoriously. I hopped onto my feet. "Damn, you got some skill." acknowledged Duncan, brushing off his jeans and jersey as he rose to his feet. "Not as much skill as you. I saw how you scored most of those goals."
"I don't like to be modest, but..." I snorted after he said that. "What? He chuckled. "'Don't like to be modest', you say. You crack me up."
Duncan glanced down at his watch. "DAMMIT, I have to be at a football practice in 20 minutes. You wanna come?" Without even thinking, I said yes. "Well then, come along, Ms. I-always-get-straight-A's!"
"Fine, Mr. I'm-captain-of-the-football-team!" He took my arm in his, and we walked over to his car.

"So... who's this, Duncan...?" Geoff gave me a weird look. "Dudes, this is my girlfriend, Gwen."
I looked at him funny. Girlfriend...? "Well that was quick." Geoff gave Duncan a silent grin and a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes and said, "I'll just be over here, sketching."
"Aw, come on, babe, at least watch practice."
"Don't call me babe." I snapped. "Feisty. I like it." nudging Duncan, Geoff whispered. Yeah, I wish I hadn't come.
Taking out my sketch book, sitting on the bleachers, I looked around for something to draw. I streaked a curved line across half of the page. then a straight line under that, then a straight line connecting to that. After a while, I came to horror to see I was drawing Duncan. The mohawk and the eyes and the unibrow and his jersey and his piercings, it all looked in place. It had taken about 20 minutes. Looking up from the page with Duncan's face drawn on it, the dudes were pretty much blowing their brains out. Their coach was barking orders at all of them. "NUMBER 88!! FOR PETE'S SAKE, STOP BEING SO LAZY AND CATCH THAT BALL FOR ONCE!! NUMBER 50, QUIT NOOGYING NUMBER 16!!"
This is boring.
When they finally had a water break, Duncan jogged over to me, all sweaty. "So, did I impress ya?" I shook my head and rolled my eyes. "Let me guess, you sketched the whole time?" I nodded my head and rolled my eyes. Duncan chuckled. "Well, it's water break." Then he did the most interesting thing that has happened today. He took off his jersey, drank some of the water bottle, and poured the rest over his head. I sat staring at him apparently. "What the hell..." I murmured. Duncan burst out laughing. "Am I too sexy?" When I nodded, Duncan kept laughing. He hugged me tight. I hugged him back. He broke our embrace and kissed me. Shirtless. Something that, if Trent saw, he would go crazy and kill everyone or something.
"Dude, guys, get a room!" laughed Geoff. "And put back on your shirt, man!"
"Oh, whatevs, Geoff." Duncan pulled away from our five second kiss to say. He put back on his shirt and hopped to his feet. "You can go home if you like, sunshine." offered Duncan. The words left my lips before I could stop them, or even know I was gonna say them. "I wouldn't leave if it killed me."
Duncan raised his unibrow in a surprised manner. "Well, looks like you don't hate me anymore."
I adjusted myself, put my hands on my lap, brushed a piece of hair out of my face, smiled, and said, "I guess I don't."
He smirked at me as ran back onto the football field, and started bickering with Geoff for some reason.
After football practice was over, it was like 3:30. Duncan drove me home.
"Wanna come to the park tomorrow?" Duncan asked as I got out of the car. "What do you think?" I grinned at him and shut the door. He drove away.
I girlishly skipped into my house, and greeted my mom with happiness.
"Wow, I thought you said you hated this boy!" Mom exclaimed. "Yeah, me too, Gwen." John agreed.
"Well... I guess I don't anymore." I gave a dreamy smile, taking a bite of my grilled cheese sandwich. I don't hate Duncan anymore.
He's cool. He's sweet. He's funny.
I can't wait for our date tomorrow.
