Chapter 1
The wolf’s ear twitched in her direction, and the animal’s head turned slightly to peer at the bushes behind which she was hiding. She knew he couldn’t see her, though; she was good at making herself invisible in the woods. She knew every tree in those woods by heart and had spent enough time around them to know where she should stand so that nothing and no one saw her.
This was practically second nature to her.
