I'm going with Lucy, since I think she genuinely loved Todd. And even though she's half crazy later in her life, she recognized him, but apparently not Joanna.

I don't care for the Lovett x Todd pairing anymore than I would Turpin x Lucy. because Lovett's feelings were no more love than Turpin's,. Obsessive lust and desire for a person is not love. Even though people who feels those things will swear, or think, it's love just because of the intensity of it.

Turpin can't have Lucy willingly, so her rapes and traumatizes her. Not Love, imo. Lovett loves Todd, so she intentionally doesn't want him to know his wife still lives, and throws said wife out of her shop. Encourages him murdering people, then adds on to it by stating to make them into pies so she get money. And having Todd miserably believe his wife is gone. But so what, long as she gets him and he's not with Lucy.

I think Mrs. Lovett is way too sanitized by people, who possibly rationalize everything she does because she's cute. She's a basket case, like Turpin -only difference she didn't rape her desired, but not like she could even if she would.

Then people hate on Toby for lying about nothing harming her. He didn't lie. He made that promise before she was revealed as a murderer's accomplice and was going to side with Todd and kill him. So he hid for his own safety, which led to him not being around when the man Lovett chose over him kills her. Her own fault.

Todd/Benjamin Loved his wife and had no interest at all in Lovett's desires in the slightest. It is plain in "By The Sea" That he wasn't interested and had no wish for any of that.
In the Flashbacks we can see that Lucy Loved her husband even after they were forced apart. And wept in sadness for her loss. Lovett was just Like Turpin, She desired someone who did not love or want her.
