Supernatural Question

Has anyone else noticed that whenever Sam and Dean argue and split up, at least in the first few seasons, Dean always ends up in big danger? In 'Scarecrow', Dean is captured & almost sacrificed and in 'Hunted', he's kidnapped by Gordon! Poor guy!
