Dean-girlx said:
Because he felt guilty - the shtirga got away, and killed kids. Dean felt that it was his fault.

My theory is that once Bloody Mary got out of her mirror, she became more powerful and could kill whether people had a secret or not.

After all, if Dean had a secret about killing someone, don't you think Sam would've prodded him for an answer for the next five episodes until Dean told him?

she blows their eyeballs right?bleeding from the eyes sounds like prety good starting before your eyeball go blowed. But if he didn't has a secret why did she tries to hurt him. BUT if he had a secret don't you think that he was going to offer to replace Sammy with the "Bloody Maryx3" thing. You know to protect his lil bro. I think they didn't invested some secret intent in the Dean eyes bleeding. Just make the episod scarier. And really I was freakin out when I first saw the episod waitin for Bloody Mary to come from the TV xD

The lady that does the SPN recaps at chron.com had an interesting idea about that in her recap here link for the epi. "In the Beginning"

She says: "I've been doing a rewatch of the show from the Pilot, and those early episodes take on a whole new meaning now..." A "...question that I was reminded of during the rewatch is why did Dean's eyes bleed in "Bloody Mary"? What's his big secret? Was it related to lingering guilt over the Shtriga? Generalized guilt for some other hunt gone wrong? Kripke has said that he knows what the secret is, but just hasn't found a way to fit it into a story. So here's my completely baseless glue huffing fanwank. Dean's secret is that he knows about Mary's deal. He knows that she's going to die, and he feels guilty that he couldn't stop it. Only, at the time of "Bloody Mary" he didn't know that he knew about the deal because he hadn't yet traveled back to 1973 in his own personal time line. Loops, dude. Loops."

so he will know the secret in the future by traveling back and he dont know that yet. But couse he actually finded for his mother in 1973 which is before Bloody Mary situation so it is cout for secret even when he still don know that or omg my head will blow. I've got to say I'm a little confused,,,

Kinda like the whole circular timeline thing, huh? Like the Terminator movies, where they knew what was gonna happen, but there was no way they could stop it?

Yeah, I guess. :-) I don't know for sure that's what Kripke and crew intended but it does seem to make sence- it's an interesting (and confusing!) idea anyway. :-)

Cause he's killed a lot of monsters and stuff right< wouldn't that be the problem?

But Bloody Mary only targeted those who'd caused the death of someone secretly- Sam knew about all the monsters he's killed, plus didn't it have to be the death of a loved one/family member?
