Supernatural Question

Is Supernatural really popular, or is it just select few people in select areas that are big fans?

I write fanfictions, go on fanpop, comment videos on youtube, but I have never, ever, met another human being (in person) that has a (healthy) obsession with this wonderful show like I do. I barely talk to people online about it as well -- i have no friends or people fans of me on here, or on youtube, or on fanfic, or on facebook thingy -- so, is it a selection of people that like this show, or am I just not very connected and lonely?

This show is just that popular. You have many shows like CSI, and NCIS. They’re good and all, but they just don’t have what Supernatural has. A strong vicious fan-base. And it’s also so unique. Every other show is some cop show. An hour filled with “who-dunnit” and that gets boring, but Supernatural has monsters, demons, angels, and really amazing actors too. And also, really, REALLY hot guys. It’s just that POPULAR!

I don't know if I could call my obsession with Supernatural healthy but I know at least two people who enjoy it just as much as me. And being on here and seeing youtube and fan fiction sites show me also that there is a ton of people out there who love it just as much. So don't worry your not alone and fanpop should help you get connected to more people who enjoy it just as much as you.

S1 - S3 didn't have that many fans [an average, steady, fair amount], enough to keep the show on the air.

In S4 the show started to gain more fans :) and now it's one of the most popular shows on the CW.

Seasons 1-3 were like probation. Season Four was when the show started gaining a lot of attention, and people started caring, not that they didn’t before, but for the first time they weren’t alone and could actually talk to people about this absolute phenomenon. I have loved the show since season one, it was always the best for me. But a lot of people were afraid to speak their mind about it!

i know how you feel believe me,it's like i am the only one who watches the show in the whole country, however i am Egyptian so i thought since supernatural is an American show it's not that hard to imagine that there won't be that many fans here in Egypt.
and gets very annoying when i watch some fantastic episode and just want to rant to someone about the awesomeness of the show and they go like like "SAM??Dean?? who??"

however as far as i know the show really isn't that popular it has more of a cult following like a small but very dedicated fan base that are very active online especially writing fan fictions

From what I've heard, it's kind of in the middle. A lot of the fans are described as cult fans, and I'm sure other more generic genre shows are more popular. But it's nowhere near fanless. A lot of what you're experiencing has to do with just not connecting with the right people who would be fans.

For myself, I don't know anyone in real life who watches it, but I've gotten one online friend obsessed and I know others who watch more casually.
