In the series, Stiles' first name is yet to be revealed. It seems like it is a difficult name to pronouce and he prefers being called Stiles which is derived from Stilinski.

I think that it is yet to be discovered. It will be told a lot later if ever in the series. I mean if the series is all of a sudden canceled then fans will never know.
