Spoilers lie ahead if you *sigh* still have not seen Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

As you probably know, being a fan of Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, was recently released on home media. For me, that means I have now seen it a shameful amount of times. A large part of my love for TFA is desert-scavenger-turned-Jedi Rey. She's pretty awesome. But one question that remains largely unanswered is this: who is Rey, and where did she come from?

After seeing TFA so many times, I am more and more convinced that Rey's father is none other than Luke Skywalker. For the following reasons:

1. The lightsaber that belonged to Anakin and Luke called to Rey. It seems that it would not call to someone who was not related to those two, even if that person were strong with the Force.
2. Shortly after having the vision, Rey is visited by Maz Kanata, who tells Rey that whoever Rey is waiting for on Jakku is never coming back, but there is someone who still could. Rey then whispers, "Luke". This seems to indicate that Luke is a close relative, probably her father, since Han and Leia don't ever mention having a long-lost daughter.

Now this begs the question of who Rey's mother is, given Luke never had a love interest in the original trilogy. I was not sure after seeing Force Awakens, but now I'm fairly certain that her mother is Jyn Erso, the female lead is Rogue One. I'm not 100% sure of this one other than that it seems pretty convenient given that Rey (and Daisy Ridley) has a British Accent like Jyn Erso, portrayed by Felicity Jones, so it makes sense where Rey may have gotten her accent from. Also, why else would Disney choose to release this film right now? Perhaps to introduce a character who may be extremely important, such as Rey's mother. It just seems very coincidental.

Another question about Rey is that she seemed to have no training, and yet she could utilize the Force to defeat a highly trained, albeit injured, Kylo Ren. My theory is that she wasn't entirely untrained. If Rey is Luke's daughter, he could have been training her in the ways of the Force from the time that she was very young. She may have buried her memories of her family to cope with her circumstances when she was on Jakku, but her Force abilities may have remained strong but dormant, "awakened" again upon encountering that lightsaber.

How did she end up on Jakku? This one I'm not entirely certain about. I have several theories on this one:
1. Luke may have chosen to hide Rey on Jakku to protect her from Kylo Ren.
2. Rey's mother may have decided to hide her on Jakku, with or without Luke's knowledge.
3. Someone from the other side, possibly Kylo Ren or Snoke, stole Rey from her parents and, in order to prevent her from being a threat, placed her on Jakku. It could have been that Kylo Ren was ordered to dispose of her, but did not have the heart to do so, so he instead marooned her on Jakku.

So there you have it. A theory on Rey from someone who obviously just wants the next movie to be done and out right about now.

"STAR WARS: EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE" (1999) Review

Sixteen years after the 1983 movie, "STAR WARS: EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI" hit the movie screens, producer-director George Lucas returned to the world of STAR WARS for a new trilogy that depicted the years before the 1977-1983 movies, starting with the 1999 film, "STAR WARS: EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE".

"THE PHANTOM MENACE" was received very poorly by critics and veteran STAR WARS fans when it was first released in 1999. Many believed that it failed to capture the spirit of Lucas' saga first established in the first three films....
