Technically the answer could keep altering/adding for a while. There'll be an eighth soon.

Plus there's talk of producing a third trilogy which would be set after the sixth episode.

The Clone Wars isn't a film... it's an animated TV series, following the fight around the general time of the Attack of the Clones. And, episode 7 isn't out yet, so you can't count it.

The Clone Wars started with a theatrical film. It wasn't a TV series yet. And since Episode 7's trailer is out, I will count it because it is continuity.

There are 6 episodes thus far, with Episodes 7-9 in the works

STAR WARS
Episode I: The Phantom Menace-1999
Episode II: Attack of the Clones-2002
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith-2005
Episode IV: A New Hope-1977
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back-1980
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi-1983

And may I add I LOVE all of them, and the bashing of the prequels has no point anymore-its merely a stupid fad that gotten way out of control. The prequels are good movies, not as great as the originals, but they are still good movies and dont deserve the hate. Its just stupid every-time someone puts them down.

The two episodes with the ewoks Caravan of courage, and The Battle for Endor. Also the Christmas episode, that totals 9. Animation does not compute. Did not count #7, it is not out yet!
