Anakin Skywalker / Vader was led to believe that the baby had died along with Padme, so would never go looking for a baby he didn't know was alive.

It's the last place Vader would look for him he didn't even think to look there first.

Vader was haunted by tatooine, it was said that ever since the death of his mother he was on loathe to travel there. Evidence? he didn't go looking for the droids C3P0 and R2D2 when they escaped with valuable technical data to the first death star when they landed on tatooine, he sent the 501st without going with them.
