Spongebob Squarepants Question

How do you think the characters in Spongebob Squarepants changed after the release of the movie in 2004?

Don't say they're more annoying and the episodes get more terrible (because we know that already)

SpongeBob: In my mind, SpongeBob's original personality was...quirky. He had traits that were nerdy, unique, and childish, all perfectly blended and balancing one another out. After the movie came out, it seemed like his childish traits started being more emphasized and the rest of his nerdy and unique qualities became more secondary. He went from being a lovable oddball who appealed to both kids and adults to suddenly resembling a sugar hyped 6 year old more than anything else. I don't know if it's just me or not, but he also seemed to lose some of his sweetness and in turn become more obnoxious. If anyone wants examples, I'll try and pick some out.

Squidward: Squidward didn't seem to change a whole lot. What I do miss however is how in the older episodes there were times when he admitted to liking SpongeBob after all. In many episodes now, it seems SpongeBob makes him genuinely miserable instead of just annoyed, which is one of my examples of SpongeBob becoming more obnoxious and less sweet.

Mr. Krabs: I absolutely hate how Mr. Krabs is beginning to be portrayed as more of a villain than Plankton is now. He's always been greedy, but in older episodes he seemed to have a few moments of going soft, such as in the episode where he felt guilty after selling SpongeBob to the Flying Dutchman for a few coins. (I don't remember the name of the episode, unfortunately.)

Sandy: I actually like the changes they made to Sandy's character a little. She was given an actual job and more personality was added to her, such as becoming smarter and a little crazier. I just wish she'd make a few more appearances in the new episodes.

Plankton: Plankton seemed to get a little better too. He seemed crazier, more determined, and we've seen a lot of him. He's one of my favorite characters.

From about Season 4 to Season 7, the episodes weren't that great. But I think they're slowly starting to get better again. I'm genuinely laughing at the episodes now and coming to like SpongeBob's character again. I don't know if I'm just getting used to the way SpongeBob turned out after the movie, or (keeping my fingers crossed on this), the episodes are actually getting good again:) I first noticed it around the episode Frozen face off in Season 8.
Well, that's my opinion on how SpongeBob's going anyway:/

I think the episodes have stayed the same. They're still funny and I've been obsessed with the sea sponge since I was a kid. That's not going to change any time soon!
