I think whenever SpongeBob and/or Patrick does something that Squidward likes, Squidward is happy. But hey, SpongeBob and Patrick are always annoying towards Squidward 95% of the time, so he gets more angry at them than being happy at them. Squidward's not bipolar. There are reasons why he switches from angry mode to happy mode.
