~* Dear Mother Earth *~

All the planets of Milky Way,
Came to a meeting,
The planets came to discuss about;
Who will be their king.

Venus stepped forward and said~

I am fiery and blazing hot,
I burn every particle and dust,
So hear me now and listen whatnot,
I am your king Venus!

Uranus stepped forward and said~

I am filled with water and snow,
All better than Venus,
Now all of you will now bow;
To the king Uranus.

Mars stepped forward and said~

I have such power you never know,
A lot more than the stars,
Now all of you will listen now,
I am your ruler, Mars.

Saturn stepped forward and said~

I am much bigger and mightier,
I have glorious rings,
I am much brainy and brighter,
So now I am Saturn, the king.

Neptune stepped forward and said~

I am covered with sapphire ice,
My voice is filled with tune,
I am brave and so very nice,
And I am king, Neptune.

Jupiter stepped forward and said~

I am the biggest of all,
Wiser and all brighter,
And now you may hear my call,
I am your king Jupiter.

Dear Mercury came in forward and declared~

Oh dear,
Oh you are wrong!
There is someone;
More strong!

Mother Earth came in forward and said~

Oh my dear Mercury,
I am not that strong,
I am not filled with bravery,
But I am never wrong.
Let us live with freedom,
Let us follow our heart,
I am full of wisdom,
So heed the words of Mother Earth.

What Lies Inside The Sun?

When a pond's surface is calm, you can see more clearly into its depths. As it turns out, the same is true for the sun.

Researchers are excited that the sun's surface is calmer now than it's been in almost a century. It's a rare opportunity — the first since the Space Age began — to peer more clearly into the sun's mysterious interior.

To take advantage of the opportunity, NASA is about to launch the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). SDO is expected to launch this year, as early as November 2009.

"That's perfect timing," says Dean Pesnell, a solar physicist at the...
