What is with the creepy sun and moon in Soul Eater?

Usually, the son and moon represent something in the show. When the moon has blood in its mouth, it means someone is going to die or someone will die. The sun laughs creepily when a fight scene will be near or something twisted will come further in the episode. :) Hope this helps.

They fit the dark tone of the anime. And seriously, with a name like Death City, what do you expect, the Teletubby sun?

the moon grinds his teeth when someone in the world is dying and when blood is coming out of his mouth someone that night already died. I can't tell you what's up with the sun though cause i don't know

The facial expressions of the sun and moon have to do with what is happening in death city.

Basically:
Regular Moon: Normal
Grinning Moon (with the blood): Fight/Death Scene

Regular Sun: Normal
Laughing Sun: Fight/Death Scene

It's just a hint as to what is going to happen or reflects on what has happened in the show.

I dunno, but the line "you're as beautiful and radiant as the moon" would probably get you slapped by a chick in Soul Eater.
