The pokeball in my hand had rattled desperately throughout th ride to the store, but now it only made feeble little shakes here and there. I felt slightly guilty about my descision, but I did my best to leave that feeling behind. I tried to be excited. I was finally getting a Litwick! Our adventures would be epic, legendary even. Then I thought about adventuring with the Solosis and felt a sudden twinge of regret at my hasty decision. I shook it off again.
By the time we reached the store, the pokeball no longer shook, but I could sense a thick shroud of dread coming from it. The salesman on duty pulled the pokeball from my hands. "What is in here?" he asked.
"A S-Solosis." I replied, my voice faltering.
"Excellent!" he praised. "What is it you're trading for?"
"A Litwick."
"Excellent!" he repeated. "Let me open this pokeball to check the Solosis' condition."
He proceeded to push the round button on the ball, and the familiar form. Of the Solosis appeared. My Solosis. Solosis gave me one last heartbroken look, and that was enough. "Sir?"
"Yes?" he asked, smiling.
"I've changed my mind," I declared. "the deal is off."

A discouraged look crossed the salesman's face as he reluctantly handed over the pokeball. Solosis looked at me again, not with sorrow, but with joy. Mom put a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her face and saw an expression of pride towards me. She turned me around, and with the pokeball in my hand and Solosis by my side, we returned home.
"I want to name it." I told my mother after settling myself on the couch with Solosis nestled in my lap.
"What name?"
"I was thinking Zeri," I answered. "It means jelly in Japanese."
"Zeri is a wonderful name! " Mom exclaimed.
Solosis seemed to appreciate the name as well. "Okay then," I said with finality. "Zeri it is!"
"I want to name it." I told my mother after settling myself on the couch with Solosis nestled in my lap.

I realize that I have been ungrateful for you, my darling gift. I find it in my heart now that I truly care for you. I know you can not read this letter, but I will still continue to compose it. I hope you, Zeri, my gift, can find it in your heart to forgive me. In recent times, I have been a monster to you. I regret every minute of my torturous behavior towards you. I apologize, even if it may be to late to. If you find my actions to be unforgivable, I understand. But, my sweet Zeri, I would like to say one last time, I'm sorry.
