Can someone please give me a solid answer, to why everyone makes a big deal over Louis Lane in Smallville?

Watch this and u will understand how they built their relationship and how important she was from the begining :)

We dont even care what you think about Lois...Smallville is way better with her in it.And now more than ever Lois is so important to smallville cause she is the one connected to the future(pandora) and the one who actually helped clark to become what he is now..If u remember from pandora episode that lois is the reason he left and started the training...Or u were so jealous of clois that u couldnt stand watching that scene?..I know you're clana fan :)The are so many other reasons why she was and is important for smallville but i dont really have to explain them to you...just stop talking and deal with it

because when clark becomes super man he ends up marrying lois and having to save his wife a lot.they also have a kid

After reading over your question and your comments on people's answers, it looks more to me like you want to prove something instead of genuinely listen and consider other's opinions. Please don't bite my head off for saying that; I'm not trying to be rude or snobby. This is just my objective impression. If I'm wrong about that, I'm truly sorry.

Now I'm not as huge a Smallville/Superman fan as other fanpoppers are, but I do have a few questions and things to say.

1) What do you mean by Lois not fitting in with the "ORIGINAL plot", and why are you getting so hung up on it?

That's the thing about plots - they DEVELOP. =P They grow. They progress. They move from point A to point B. New ideas are explored and new characters enter the scene...that's what keeps a TV show ALIVE. Complaining that Lois doesn't "fit in" or disliking her because she wasn't there from the start doesn't make a lot of sense to me. :-/

2) I didn't love Lana as a character, but I didn't hate her, either. She was sweet and beautiful, and she did have an important part to play in Clark's past. HOWEVER, going hand-in-hand with my previous point, the past is the past. It's the present now, and Clark is getting closer and closer to his future. AND to Lois. He's not a teen heart-throb chasing after meteor freaks anymore; he's a MAN with a new life and a red cape hanging ready for him in the closet. I think you need to accept that he's outgrowing his Smallville phase - including Lana - and just appreciate the new plotline for what it is.

3) As I've said, I liked Lana...but I quickly grew tired of the everlasting Clana soap opera. If it wasn't bambi eyes and syruppy I-wuv-yous, it was teen drama and "you just don't twust me!!!1" Off and on, off and on, AAUUGH.

If that's not how you saw it, that's fine and I respect your opinion. But frankly, Lois was a breath of fresh air to me after all that. I don't worship the ground she walks on like others do, but I still like her a lot. She's fun, smart, spunky and kickass, and I like the balance of banter and sweetness between her and Clark. Their relationship has a certain depth and authenticity about it that I never felt with the Clana ship.

I don't know much about the original "legends". I'm no Superman expert, and I don't obsess over every detail. But speaking both as a critic and a an average Smallville fan, I think she's done a lot to kick the show up a notch.

So there's my two cents. In conclusion, here's a quote from one of my favorite voice actors. And this is for ALL of you fans:

I like Lois because she is outstanding

Well maybe ur the only person who thinks that. Cuz Lois is awesome just awesome. We love her cuz she great, kick-ass, smart, sacastic, funny and had great chemistry w/ Clark. Enough reason 4 u?!?!? Btw they didn't rush her, it's completely the opposite it took them long enough, I mean she arrived in the 4th season.

Actually if you know anything about the comic book world you would know that there are tons of different versions and veriations of the story. The movies and smallville are completely their own stories. His story has been altered and changed to make a new stories. This is a series that has been around for over 70 years. Yes in that one superman movie Lois married someone else but in many different superman comics Lois and Clark were married, including the current version of the Superman comics. So as you can see every version has a different twist of the story with the same general concept, which is Clark journey as Superman and Lois has always been a major part of that.

Lois Lane has always been Clark Kents end game and a major part of who is and his story. So it was only natural to bring her. You honestly can't have Superman without his Lois Lane. Not when she is a character that is mentioned in almost EVERY version of the comics. So if your a true follower of the Superman Saga you wouldn't need for any of us to explain to you why Lois Lane is important. The whole point of Smallville is to show how Clark got his start, how he became the superhero. The show gave us a chance to meet everyone from his past for the first 3 seasons and it was only a matter of time before they brought in Lois. I think they gave him a chance to show all of that with out rushing Lois in and even when they did bring her in they were shoving her and Clark together. They've waited several season to even make them a couple. Which I think is plenty of time to develope Clark seperatly from Lois. Again I repeat, a HUGE part of who Clark Kent AND Superman are. At some point they had to ties the past to the future and with Lois they did that, just like they did that with bringing Clark to the Dailey Planet.

Please keep in mind the TRUE history of Superman before throwing around silly questions.

I understand where you are coming from.
I sometimes find myself scratching my head wondering why they added certain things to the show. Bringing Lois on was certainly a risky move. All in all I think it has worked out for the better. True, in the original Superman legends Lois is present after Clark dawns the tights and cape. I would like the chance to provide as solid a reason as I can to justify her role on SMALLVILLE.
The writers seem to have taken creative liborties with the show (such as bringing on doomsday). I think it is the same with Lois. By bringing such characters onto the show we viewers get a better understaning about them and how they came to be the uultimate villan of the love of Supermans life.
Originally Lois is a witty reporter who constantly seems to overlook Clark and is loyally in love with the Man of Steel(very similar to her part on Smallville)- Not to mention she gets stuck working with the world most bumbling reporter.
Which brings me to theory of why Lois is on the show: Don't forget, it is Lois who convinces Clark to take a job at the Daily Planet, which is VERY important for Superman. She provids an oportunity for him to create (or maintain- however you want to look at it) his alter-ego, which in turn allows him to be "The Red Blue Blur" without such risk of being discovered.
Lastly, mostly in regards to SMALLVILLE, rather than SUPERMAN, Lois is the reason Clark decides to maintain some of his humanity. After Jimmy's death/dooms day smackdown Clark comes to the conslusion that he should embrace his Kryptonian side and forsake all human ties to society. Because of his love for Lois he decides that he cannot do that and he returns to being both Clark Kent and the Blur.
I think Lois has a stable role on the show and as controversal as it may be at times, her character has erned the right to be a part of Smallville. (Though, perhaps for others, the show would be just as good without)

ya know the show is very very different 4m the comics mostly every1 knows that because some of the episodes show heroes 4m comics that r nothing like they were in comics and many other things like in season 4 episode 5 Run they introduce bart allen who 1st started off as impulse then to be the 2nd kid flash then to become the flash but in the show they make him a thief that was in an accident and doesnt know exactly how he got his powers and many other episodes have other heroes from comics but they r portraied differently in the show it makes the show more interesting and they rush lois in the show because soon they r gonna stop making smallville episodes it might not be next year or anything really close but sooner or later the stars of the show wont be able to star in the show anymore and who would watch it without tom welling as clark kent and many other characters as well and they wanted to give clark a new romance and spice up the show and they did an awsome job lol

I cant get why you guys spend your time answering to this stupid question.Its obvious this guy is such a Lana-Boring fan that cant understand that lana is gone..clana is over so stop crying and get over it.Lois lane is the only reason i am watching smallville for me and many other ppl i know..trust me.I dont care about the legends or when clark is supposed to meet Lois.This is bullshit and no one would even watch smallville if it was like all the other superman series and movies.After Lois came to the show Lana was already forgotten :) Now go cry elsewhere.

whats the Big Idea so what if u dont liek Lois I LOVE LOIS! she is the best without her there's no fun and laughter anymore there's only Crime nad we dont only want crime we want others and U should at least Like her it cnat be Bad Lois is the best and i love her i can prve it by my icon Lois is the best and im gonna say That If there Isn't a Lois Lane there Isn't Same Old Smallville.

I also think that every show needs some romance going on to keep spicy! ;0)
