Well, if you've never been in front of an audience before, the best thing to do is not sing by yourself the first time. Sing with a group, such as a chorus.

Once you get used to singing, you'll become less and less nervous.

Also, stage fright is due to thinking you are horrible and everyone will laugh at you. The best thing to do is get private voice lessons. Your teacher will guide you, and you'll figure out you're good.

Also, record yourself singing before your first solo (use a cell phone recorder, computer mic, anything) and listen to it. If you enjoy it, you'll be less nervous about singing with an audience. If not, work on problem areas.

I guess the important thing is to practice. And sing in front of someone you trust. Positive feedback is always good!

dont worry everyone gets nervous sometimes i have stagefright too. what helps for me is to swallow (as if swallowing your fear), blink your eyes (as if to blink away the crowd), and sing with your best voice (as if your life depended on it) it always works for me and my friends who get scared in front of a crowd i hope it helps

I know this sounds weird, but think everyones not there of in thier underwear. It sounds weird, but works like hell. Don't think what others think of you, as long as you loved it then thats all that matters.

I would suggest singing with a group of close friends, this way you get used to singing in front of other people, in a more comfortable way. Also, I find that listing to music you love and focusing on that can help a great deal. :) I hope this helps you! Have fun!
