I saw it but I wasn't a fan. My first question is why are there no black people on the show? I know it's England but there are blacks in England. That's not the reason why I didn't like it but it was strange after seeing the American version

I tried watching the first episode and honestly I didn't like it. And this is not me slamming British TV because I'm a big fan of a lot of British TV shows and I'm not one of those Americans that won't watch anything made anywhere else. It just didn't capture my interest like the American version did basically right away. I'm open to giving it another chance, it might get better as it goes along, but I wasn't feeling the first episode. Which is disappointing because I love James McAvoy.

I watched it and it was hard to finish. I have no idea what they were talking about, but you gotta love James <3

It's better.
1) It has James freaking McAvoy, who is an extremely talented actor.
2) We don't have to suffer through watching Emmy Rossum and (the hideous) Jeremy Allen White onscreen when watching the UK version. Both of them can't act their way out of a paper bag.
3) Isn't Shameless supposed to be a comedy? The UK version is funny while the US version fails at being a comedy.
4) A US remake of a UK show is pointless as hell.
5) English accents are always a plus.

The only edge the US version has is William H. Macy. He was born to play the role of Frank.
