Severus Snape Question

Writing fanfiction advice?

Naturally a Severus Snape fanfiction, or I wouldnt be on this spot.

I've been trying to pair Sev with an OC for quiet a while, but the more I think about it the harder it gets.

I know many of you will say that you don't think it would work, he wouldnt love again, and all that stuff, but I think he could, so thats what im going for.

If you agree with me, and think that he could fall in love again, can you help me out here, and give me a little shove in the right direction?

I really want to write this, and I have several good ideas that I've gathered myself, and floating around the sight.

Ok Basically...

I want this to be set within the 7 books (8 movies)
And yep, I know that its hard to do that (I've been trying for months) But is anyone willing to help?

I know this isnt alot to go on, but if you have any ideas, please list them vvvvv Below.

The best advice I can give when dealing with a character like Severus is to go Alternate Universe. Which is what I do. When you write within a AU framework with well-established, well-loved (or hated as the case often is) characters, you are not bound by canon, although I always try to keep to canon as closely as I can and still tell my personal story. But what works for me, what feels right for me, may not for another writer.

As with any story you write, whether it's your own Original fiction, or something grounded in a World you passionately love, you must always follow your heart, and let the story go where it wants to flow. If you don't, your readers will know. Let the characters talk to you. And if what the character wants clashes with what your heart is telling you, come to a compromise. If you can't, sometimes letting the character win the argument isn't always a bad thing. ;)

Very good answer. AU are a good base for plots involving Severus/OC - especially for us writers that want him to survive.

Difficult answer... I don't think there are any proper advice. Just do it. The most important though, in my opinion, is to have a plot that works out fine.

I love Sev/OC pairings, I write in that category too. Have two fanfics under writing now, a 3rd one brewing. My brain is like a cauldron sometimes, too much stuff in there ! LOL

Good luck with your writing. Please post a link, but remember, you do not need to post it as soon as possible. Just have it worked out nice and plausible. Alternate Universes are good for plots. (In my case, have been working on my 2 stories for months and I don't feel like I'm going to post them now. There's something called real life out there... LOL)

I'm aware I've not been much helpful there, but you've got all my encouragements for your endeavors.
