In InuYasha, does Sesshoumaru or Inuyasha end with the tenseiga?

This is VERY important to me because I'm writing a fanfic where a lot of stuff happens and my character ends up dead. I thought that Inuyasha ended up with the tenseiga, so he could bring her back, but now that I think about it, I can't remember. Because if Sesshoumaru has it, I'll need to find a way to convince him to bring her back and it'll be really confusing and stuff, but it's needed.
So someone please tell me what happens with the tenseiga because I thought when meido zangetsuha was absorbed, the sword was absorbed with it.
