"Sakura was the one to fill his (Sasuke's) lonely existance" words.from Kishimoto's databook. Even though SasuSaku fans cling onto this smugly, I tend to to think this quote isn't quite realistic. Sakura did not fill his loneliness. Sakura only liked him for appearance. (stated in shippuden) Now, Sasuke always thought she was an annoying fangirl. But over sometime, he did start caring for her. He saved and protected her, complimented her, and was there. But the two couldn't bond close because SAKURA doesn't know what loneliness is. She might not even know what love is. You have to remember he WAS GOING TO KILL FOR HER! She was precious but not an equal. Sakura got pissed because she saids "Naruto is ALWAYS in the way between us!" He did say thank you and listened to her confession quietly but knocked her out because she was going to follow.
SASUNARU
what is there to say? A LOT! "In the past, parting from him (Naruto) was as painful as tearing the other half of his body" from Kishimoto's 3rd data book. When Sasuke was going to leave, he looked at Naruto's closed eyes and admitted that Naruto was his closest friend. Sasuke saved Naruto more repeatedly than he did Sakura. The two understood eachother more ways than one, thus forming an unbreakable bond between them through rivalry. Naruto had said when he first met Sasuke, he wanted to be like exactly like him. Also, Naruto stated that Sasuke was the first to acknowledge him and first bond. Naruto cried when Sasuke "died" because Sasuke saved Naruto. Sasuke couldn't kill Naruto and had a regretful expression looking back at Naruto and the village... In Shippuden, Sasuke remembered Naruto at the 'Great Naruto bridge' he smiled , actually smiled and remembered his old team. He (Sasuke) was shocked when NARUTO called him a friend. Naruto is obsessed with Sasuke and defends his name. He kept Sasuke's heaband and thinks bout him 24/7 for 2.5 years.
Now, I love SasuNaru but the fandom is annoying. Naruto isn't the a chibi or cute uke. He is a man. Sasuke doesn't have an icy heart, he bottles up pain. Naruto isn't the only sasuke cares for. It isn't hot. You should like the pairing for its standing and interactions. Naruto didn't only touch Sasuke sakura did as well but not as deep. Most fangirls only like it cause its HOT :L
Look at the lines. Naruto and sasuke not always got along.

Luna-Lacrimosa I like it because it's raw! Sasunaru is the most popular and realistic couple but the most IMPOSSIBLE! Soome fans forget Sasuke's true personality...and need facts to back up. I personally dont care for seme/uke. They're both men. Like it for what it is.. NOT BECAAUSE IT'S KAWAII OR HOOTTT .////. :/ Sasuke and Naruto's relationship is very important.

NoranB I agree with you 100%!!!! I love this pairing not because it's yaoi but cos their interaction is just so deep and complex~ If other pairings had half as much development I'd maybe support it but for some reason Kishi really sucks at providing reasons/grounds for "love". I mean Naruto "love" for Sakura is totally strange (my theory is that Sasuke is the reason behind this, but I won't go deep into it) and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke is really...weird. She was just a fangirl that was lucky enough to be in his team...NOT bashing her, just saying. It's really annoying how people draw Naruto as a weepy and weak girl-boy thing, it bugs me to no end. Also when Sasuke is portrayed as a creepy horny rapist dude. GOD! (I'm not sure but nowadays most good shonen ai / yaoi mangas aren't like that either, right?) I actually prefer NaruSasu (as in Naruto is the more "forward" in their relationship), I think it fits their personalities, but honestly there doesn't have to be roles. Ah I started ranting again. I just had to comment, I enjoyed reading your opinion! And I'm SO glad "Sakura was the one to fill his loneliness" was a mistranslation xD It didn't really make sense anyway! I wonder what it really said but I can't get my hands on the data books ;_;

Luna-Lacrimosa Lol hanks. I heard it was a mistranslation but when it said "HE COULD NIT LET HER IN" it was saying he couldn't return the feelings. I gladly want to hear your opinion! I mean the two never had a real convo...! People just piss me off saying how sasuke and sakura are ying and yang. I think NARUTO AND SASUKE ARE YINING AND YANG! neji told naruto that baruto is sasuke's only light...and sasuke cannot accept naruto's light...so...yeah l ok
