Hi folks!
Greetings from the village that they call the Moy! It's been great to be back home for a few days. The past few months have certainly been a whirlwind with rehearsals and the first half of the tour; and some much needed downtime with my family and friends has been great! I'm still digging through all the post, trying to get caught up- you all are amazing! I am so very blessed to have such great fans and friends, I can't say it enough! I also see that "In Time" is back towards the top of the best sellers list on CdBaby! Wow! Thank you so much for all your support-I know that means you've been spreading the word, and I'm very grateful! I think as we approach Thanksgiving in the next few weeks, it really has dawned on me just how much I have to be thankful for. I think it’s certainly true to say that you don’t realize what true joy really is until you have it taken from you. However, surrounding yourself back with the real people that matter is certainly the way to get through it and prove that a few bad people can’t be let destroy everything. Here’s to a much happier twelve months ahead!
Speaking of which, thanks so much for all the kind birthday messages, cards and gifts I received personally, online and through the post from you. Overwhelming as always!! I just need to get a bigger house – I’m just lucky I live here by myself! If I ever get round to getting someone, she’s gonna have problems sharing with me and all my stuff!! (I hope that doesn’t put off any potential candidates!! : ) )
I also want to say a word of thanks to all of you who suggested myself as a nominee for the Irish Music Awards. It’s really an honour to be even nominated for such . I’m told the voting opens on December 1st, so my website, Twitter and Facebook accounts will keep you up to date as to how you go about doing that, as will the various RK Street teams I have no doubt!! : )
Soon we'll be back out on the road touring the Christmas half of the tour. I know you'll all really enjoy it and hopefully I'll see many of you at a show along the way. That means Christmas itself is soon on the way as well. Remember last year when I asked if everyone could share "Not Far Apart" with your family and friends, and your local radio stations? Many of you did, and I was so grateful for the support from all of you, and humbled by the stories you shared about the song helping to touch and heal those who had a need to hear it, especially during the holiday season. There were many radio stations, however, that were willing to give the song a listen, but said we were too late for getting it into the programming schedule for airing. So, can we try again? Let's share "Not Far Apart" again this year! If you were successful in getting the song on the air in your area, give them a call/drop them a note and remind them to give it some airplay again this year. If you had a station tell you, "try again next year"-now's the time!! ; ) I'll make sure we have a new thread in the forum for all of you to share your success stories, I loved reading them and hearing all the great ideas and feedback. If a station has any questions about the song, myself, or the album, you can direct them to my website, and they can use the contact page there, or drop a note at admin@ryankellymusic.com with their contact information for follow-up. Let's see how many stations in how many countries we can get to air "Not Far Apart" this year! Also, the beautiful video for the song is still available on my youtube site ( link ), and you can certainly feel free to share that with all your family and friends by email or even on your Facebook walls in the build-up to Christmas!
The other good news is that the song will be available in the next few days as a single download on CDBaby.com and subsequently on iTunes and other music sites, so you can also direct people there as well if they don’t want to buy the whole album just yet, or would like to send someone the single first of all.
For all who don’t know, “In Time” is now also available for purchase through the Celtic Thunder shop at link and I’m pleased to say that Declan has informed me that it’s selling really well there too. We’re finally getting the gospel of RK out there!! : )
Anyways, that’s probably enough information for today – I don’t want to overload you all!! Being back home is great for getting stuff done that I don’t have time for on the road, but I must admit my obsession to stay up and watch the NFL on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays to the early mornings is still playing havoc with my sleep! I must see if I can drop the NFL commissioner a line to see if he could make the games start a little earlier when I’m back home. Surely he’s a fan?! ; )
