Duh, Akane. Besides Rumiko Takahash chose Ranma and Akane as the cannon couple and she's the creator, I think she'd know her characters better than anyone. No matter what anyone else says.

That's true, it'd almost be like insulting the creator to say Ranma should be paired with some one else. I know a lot of people like him with Shampoo, but the only girl I can agree with Ranma being paired with is Akane. A true fan of Ranma 1/2 loves it as is. Some things you might wish would change but altering the pairing would ruin the whole thing.
