Used to make a lot of them jokes before, but reduced it down a lot and only use it if it fits too well to the context. Started to respect myself a lot more than before. But, that doesn’t mean my jokes were not pure jokes. When I am joking, I solely do it for the lolz. But, nowadays, I make those kinda jokes to mostly avoid awkwardness or some sort of defense mechanism. However, I do go on a spree sometimes lmfao depends on my mood. Once I tap into my joking mode, I become a joke machine. All kind of jokes and sarcasm. I am really good at trash talking too. But, I don't do that to maintain civility.

Well, a combination of this and "Yes, but they're more true than joking." I have terrible self-loathing! I tend to assume people hate me, so I make fun of myself before anyone else can, so I won't be hurt when I learn they don't like me. Besides, it helps me deal with my self-loathing.

I am very much a dark jokes to cope kinda person. I tend to make self depreciating jokes as well, but they are mostly in good fun. Like I'll make fun of my inability to do math, my social awkwardness, and my asexuality and stuff like that. Sometimes I'll joke about more personal things. But I usually do this when I'm in an emotionally sound place.
I avoid this kind of humor when I'm not in a good place though.

@Katara That's kind of what I do; I make fun of myself so other people can't if that makes sense. I'm glad to see you around fanpop and stuff and I certainly don't hate you!

@Ranty xP Same. Sort of, I stopped making them when they're more true than joking. I think that there's a healthy way to make jabs at yourself and an unhealthy way. To do it in a healthy way you kind of need to have self-respect and (maybe) confidence.
